Off we went to see how indigenous people and later immigrants lived in what became North Van. The museum has such wonderful displays of different aspects of life here. For the Squamish and Tsleil Waututh people, the forest and ocean provided food, clothing, shelter, and more.

Canoes were carved out of local trees. Bailers scooped water out during trips.
Europeans saw the value of the massive cedar and fir trees in North Van. a
nd moved here to profit from logging. Logging takes major muscle.
