Amelia, as scientist of the week, showed great confidence and poise in front of the class. She actually held a glass of water upside down with just cardboard underneath it, and not a drop came out.
The air pressure from underneath is stronger than the weight of the water so the cardboard stays attached.
And of course when it was tilted, swoosh... It emptied!
