Giulia's fabulous Eggsperiment
Congratulations Giulia for being so well prepared, for speaking so clearly and confidently and for looking like a pro in front of the class. We loved seeing the egg float to the top after you dissolved the salt in the water.
Giant structures
Thanks to all of you who rolled and rolled and rolled those newspapers. They worked perfectly today as we made our megastructures. The group work was outstanding and the results truly amazing for a class of grade threes. In the beginning.....

A Beautiful Day to Read Maps and Be Together
Thanks to Mother Nature on Friday for the glorious weather. It was perfect for bus rides and a hike in Lynn Canyon. I was so excited to take our class of wonderful, curious students on this field trip.
As per the transit map, the 228 Lynn Valley bus took us northeast to Burrill St., where we disembarked and made our way to the Ecology Centre.
Next, the forest trek. One group took one route, and the other took another route. We crossed paths part way through. What sights! What terrain!
After we collected treasures from the temperate rainforest floor, we reconvened at the Ecology Centre to examine them under the Elmo microscope, a very cool sort of overhead magnifier. We saw mushrooms, tiny bugs, pine cones, seeds, and other good stuff. Talk about textures!
Our class showed true leadership and flexibility when we missed the southbound 228 back to school. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade: even though we were starving and pooped, we trudged to a different bus stop WITHOUT COMPLAINING. Well done, Div.7; that is excellent spirit.
This field trip would not have been possible without the wonderful support of Noah's grandmother, Nancy (nice name, that); Cameron's mother, Laura; Giulia's mother, Sandra; and Evan's dad, Chris
(who did double duty as our first aid attendant). THANK YOU FOR COMING!
:) Ms. Munro
