A Slice of Fancy Fridays

How exciting to learn this new technology!

It is time I shared a slice of our class's Fridays from this teacher's perspective.  I have taught part-time for a few years now, and I still try to do several days' worth of work on my one teaching day. Call me ambitious. I'm still navigating my way at my new school with my new class and my new partner, but please be assured that I love Brooksbank, I love our students, and working with Christina is a dream come true.

So, Fridays involve a weekly routine with room for whimsy. For example, Khushman greeted me today with a new book that he loves, so he got to read it to the class first thing. He got to demonstrate his oral reading skills, and the rest of the kids practiced listening.  Win-win.  Please see the photo in the previous post of Khushman reading Chester to us. Lovely.

Then there are the connections the kids make throughout the day that are magical to me. This afternoon, during tubbing (choosing time), some of the girls were laying out animals, and they asked me to take pictures from a bird's eye view. This connects to our new mooing unit! I love it when that happens.  I am trying to post the photos of it ( why isn't that working now?!).

FYI, Spelling tests should be coming home with your child on Fridays; please celebrate their successes by posting them on the fridge and jumping up and down!

Enough! Happy weekend to all!
