Wednesday's garden visit

We have a new teacher in the garden, named Michael, who had us look for all the winter growth in the garden, sort seeds, and make pots to take a nasturtium seed home in.

We can always count on Fiona to teach us something new.

Filling the pots with soil and nastertium seeds. They are supposed to bloom on Mother's Day and can be put out in the garden in a sheltered spot. Fingers crossed for no heavy frost.

Dallas helps us bless our wee eggs in the salmon tank

Dallas from the Coast Salish nation visited our class to share how his people have offered blessings to the salmon for thousands of years.

We used cedar boughs to brush across the tank and offer positive thoughts for a healthy life for the... soon to be.... alevin!

The stories he shared about the salmon people and the wild woman of the woods kept us glued to his words!

C reads a classic

C read The Paper Bag Princess, the classic Robert Munsch tale, to us for sharing.  She did a great job reading at a steady pace with lots of expression. We can see why it's one of her favourite stories; it's funny and has a good message.

Our latest crowd surf

Happy birthday, Miss A!
Gently, slowly,...

Liftoff!

How's the weather up there?

As gently as she went up, she came down.

Second time challenging our group work skills and working under time pressure.

Ask your child what their biggest learning was in this activity!
