Gordon Smith Gallery

Thanks to supporive parent drivers and supervisors, we had a wonderful visit to the Artists For Kids exhibit of indigenous art at the Gordon Smith Gallery..

Have your child point out the Lions and tell you the legend that inspired the faces in them.

We made plasticene models of Inuit sculptures which you can look at in the display case in the foint hall.

Drawing an ispiring piece made us look at tge art very carefully.

These moccasins had the most wonderful smell..

Keep a lookout for our 'Printmaking' to be done and displayed next week..
And..

Did you know that the Gallery is open for anyone to visit from Wednesday through Saturday from noon til 5. Have your child lead you through the exhibit or take a tour with a volunteer docent.

Snoop Dog

Snoop came to visit us today. He belongs to Emily in our class.

Snoop is cute.  He is a Doberman.  He is 5 months old.

Emily's dad picked Snoop up. He's about as heavy as a full desk.

Snoop can speak, shakes a paw, and sits. He is in puppy school.

Thank you Emily and Raj for bringing in Snoop.

Britney!

Ms. Munro's heart nearly burst on Friday when Britney came for a visit.  She is a gorgeous Rhode Island Red hen. How would you describe her?
Britney travels in a cardboard box.

And brings a sheet to protect the carpet.

Britney was a bit nervous.  She moved her head a lot.

She also gazed lovingly at us, as chickens do.

Proud brother of Britney.

Thank goodness for the protective sheet!  That was quite the finale!

Why is chicken poop sometimes partly white?

Thank you so much, Christa and Jesse, for sharing Britney with us.  She's a beauty!

Our Animal Totems

Thanks to Candy for the boxes and Leanne for helping to display our beautiful totems.
