Our costumes

Hope you had a happy Halloween!

And the silly shot too:

More buddy shots from today

Some of our monsters had way too many heads or legs or arms!

McKenzie and her pal

It almost looked like serious work!

Buddies with Mrs Batista's class

We played Make a Mionster together!

It was great for all of us to have buddies today!

BOO!

We'll, if this didn't amp up the energy level...

Friday was a full day working with vocabulary, art techniques, signing, listening, sharing, thinking, moving, and all other things you get to do at school.
Witch fingers help you track.

You can create a picture with just your hands, paper, and glue. NO SCISSORS REQUIRED.

How many times can you find the word bat?

Making a spooky story plan using Hallowe'en words.

Using pictures to create a spooky scene. Add some chalk and voila -- eerie effect.

What is lighter than the pumpkin?  What is heavier?

Later in the day, we had sharing:
Our VIP brought her beloved husky stuffy.

We practiced everyone's name sign with student teacher Caitie and Ms Tevendale, and then we had huge fun playing Bingo!  Ask your child how the game worked and what their name in sign is.

We capped the day off with a song by James Taylor called "October Road" as a way to say good-bye to the month. I wonder what our November song will be?

Avianna's Benji

Avianna a brought in her dog for sharing on Thursday and he was so well behaved! Avianna a spoke so clearly and thoughtfully as students asked great questions.

Michael Bortolotto touched our hearts deeply

Micheal Bortolotto spoke last week about living with cerebral palsy, about being different on the outside and about acceptance and tolerance. Look him up on you tube and see for yourselves what power his presentation had.

He had me laughing, crying and then laughing again!

Robert"s last day

We were sorry to see Robert go and wish him all the best at his new home and school in Kelowna.

Grade 2/3, 2016 - 2017

Greetings, at long last, to our beloved classroom blog.  Apologies for taking so long to get up and running.  Technology is a friend and foe -- we love being able to update our families and friends on what we're doing in the classroom, but there are inevitable glitches.  For example, I used to be able to post from my phone, where my photos of our students are, BUT NOW I CANNOT.  Argh.  I will try to work that out this weekend so that you can see some of the magic your children bring to Brooksbank.

Stay tuned.
