More Outdoor School!!!

Ms. Munro had to meet the chickens promptly. They are in good form.
Hey, is that Aly's brother?!

Last day at Outdoor School

One of the nicest parts of Outdoor School is getting to spend time with the children in our own class as well as other Gr. 3 classes.  Meeting kids from other schools is also enriching; we made many new friends from Upper Lynn.

Today, we were TIRED. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our last DELICIOUS breakfast and lunch, and our final field study. Thank you, Ms Schnetzler, for signing us up to teach the farm. WE GOT TO BE WITH THE CHICKENS!!!

Aren't they exquisite?

Three huge pugs live at the farm: Capital, Miss Piggy, and Wilbur.

Goats galore!

Up in the farm lab, we held incubated eggs in front of a light (called candling) to see their progress. A translucent egg means no chick is growing. We found one that clearly had a chick inside it. We hoped it would hatch today, but alas, it didn't.

Look at this interesting collection of eggs. The hens that laid them are no doubt spectacular.

With a couple of moments to spare at the end, we played "Chick Chick Hen", our version of Duck Duck Goose.  (FYI, my camp name was Fancy Fowl.)

Getting ready to go after lunch:

We had a magical time at that magical place, our Iutdoor School. Thank you to our dear students for creating so many special memories.

Today's happenings included...

Mr. Kelly took the kids to Loutet to learn about bees.
We played Math games. What's 9+4?
We finished the day with a wonderful book by William Steig called DR. DESOTO. Steig is the kind of author who's as much fun for adults to read as kids.

Good times

We played a cooperative game called Titanic in gym, where everyone had to work together to get from one end of the gym to the other in hoopla hoop life boats.

Sophie's plastic molecules

Sophie's science experiment was of professional quality. She spoke with such assurance, captured the audience easily and taught us clearly about plastic's special properties.

Those pencils are poking through the plastic on both sides and not a drop of water is leaking out!

Sophie showed us how to speak to a group confidently!!

Julia magically lifts ice

Julia's science experiment showed that one can lift up an ice cube with a string that has just been placed across the top of it. Can you guess what the trick is?

You think you know? Unscramble these letters .... L. A .. S. T
Magic!

Young actors project

Thanks to your contributions to the special projects fund we were able to hire Jared from the Young Actor's project to teach us drama, use our bodies to portray emotion, and make believable facial expressions.
